The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that all students have access to healthy and effective learning environments. Providing all students with convenient access to free menstrual products helps to support their full participation in school activities, reduces stigma and promotes gender equality.
1. The district will ensure that menstrual products are made available to students of all gender identities or expressions in a manner that protects student privacy.
2. The district will provide for barrier free, easily accessible menstrual products at no cost to students.
3. All middle and secondary schools will provide menstrual products in school washrooms.
4. All elementary schools will provide menstrual products in school first aid rooms.
5. School district staff will consider student and parent feedback with respect to the provision of menstrual products.
